Summer Camp Counselor
Summary (Essential Functions): Lead camp groups for members' and guests' children, ensuring a quality and engaging experience for families. This seasonal position runs from May to August and requires flexibility, energy, and a proactive approach to supporting all age groups.
Details:
•Greet children and parents warmly, providing clear communication at drop-off and pick-up
•Proactively engage with children in all camp activities, including games, crafts, sports, and swimming
•Assist with bathroom monitoring, meals, snacks, and transitions
•Plan and execute age-appropriate activities, adapting to different age groups within the camp
•Complete opening and closing duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
•Monitor and facilitate positive interactions between children, using effective and appropriate discipline techniques
•Support overall camp operations by taking out trash, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with setup and cleanup
•Demonstrate a strong work ethic by stepping in where needed to ensure smooth operations without constant oversight
•Exhibit proper phone etiquette and uphold Club standards in all interactions
•Collaborate with contract and professional staff during specialized lessons and activities
•Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
•Perform other tasks as assigned by the Youth Activities Coordinator to contribute to a successful camp experience
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be reliable, professional, and adaptable to work with all age groups of children. Candidates should possess strong communication and teamwork skills and a genuine passion for providing excellent service. Preferred candidates will have at least 1 year of college, 6 months of related experience, and/or CPR certifications.
Candidates must be willing to participate actively in all camp activities, including swimming, and contribute positively to the camp environment by anticipating needs and taking initiative. The ideal candidate will help create a seamless experience for children, parents, and staff, embodying the Club's mission to offer a warm and welcoming environment with dedication and a personal touch.
